Part of the Art Fair deal is that we have to booth sit for artists who are at the fair alone.

Honestly, I don’t know how a single person can do four 12+ hour days all by themselves. Everyone needs a bathroom break, or to get something to eat. Artists are a hardy bunch, which is why I don’t do art fairs by myself. I’m not that hardy.

While sitting for a photographer, I ended up buying this.

I know. I’m not supposed to spend money. But he cut me a deal.

Plus, how could I resist?

At the Ann Arbor Art Fair today.

It’s hotter than hell.

Honestly.

The blacksmiths have constructed a mustache that’s quite the hit of the show. Everyone is having their photos taken with it.

I’m kinda-sorta getting ready for the Ann Arbor Art Fair, which is in two and a half weeks. I’m a member of the Michigan Silversmith Guild, so I will be in their tent again this year.

Art Fair is fun, but it’s (usually) on the hottest weekend of the summer. Two years ago, I thought I would die from heat stroke. Last year, it was so chilly, I had to buy a poncho from another artist to keep warm. The first year, I barely made enough to pay for my fee. Last year, I made a TON. It was nice. I prefer chilly and flush to hot and poor.

I’m making ankle bracelets this week. This one’s my favorite – sterling silver, jade and mystic topaz.

Damn, I have ugly ankles.
